One Light - boat length 50 metres or less.

Two Lights - boat length 100 metres or less (fore light is higher).

Deck Lights - as well as mast lights: could be more than 100 metres long.

Notes: Shorter vessels may show the same lights as longer vessels. Lights show all round. Boats under 7 metres anchored outside of navigable waters do not have to show any lights.
